Illuminate at the HMV Picture House 5.3.11

The Illuminate band teamed up with Origin Scotland, Steph Macleod and Bob David Bell on Saturday the 5th of March at Edinburgh's HMV Picture House. It was an amazing night of music, testimonies and people encountering God. Thanks to everyone who was able to come along and support this event, we hope to be back at the Picture house at some point next year. Peace to ya!

'Illuminate Scotland are an anointed ministry. Speaking for myself and my band, we really enjoyed their set at the HMV Picture House last Saturday. As a band Illuminate gel well and work together to perform brilliantly. Their own music is great and I am looking forward to their first release. As well as their own tunes the band did some cracking covers of known worship songs. The fact these songs were performed in Illuminate's own style, and the fact they led us all to a place of absolute worship, is testament to the quality of this passionate, yet humble, ministry.'

Steph Macleod, Singer Songwriter

'It was so cool to be able to get some of the Christian bands in Edinburgh that really have God at their focus together on stage. Along with Steph Macleod and Bob Bell, the guys from Illuminate really helped light up the night – not just volume and passion, but with hearts on fire for God. That in itself made the event totally worth it.'

Colin Peckham, Origin Ministry Leader

Light in action :: Project Snow 11.12.10

Light in action - Project Snow

It seemed like there was a record amount of snow fall in the City this winter. This is good news for many of us as it means only one thing: Sledging!! But heavy snow fall can be a lonely and sometimes dangerous time for many, especially the elderly within our communities. Illuminate were involved with helping elderly people clear there driveways of snow and collect essential shopping items for them as well as our main 'Light in Action' event on the 11th of December. On the 11th we had a team of over 20 students who helped at Balgreen Primary School to clear the playground and staff car park of snow and ice so that children could use the playground and so that staff could safely get to work. It was a really fun day and the staff at Balgreen Primary where very moved that a team of students were willing to do this for them.

Made For Community 1.10.10

Made for Community - Liquid Room

Thanks to everyone who came along (in the rain!) to support this event. Chasing owls opened the night off with a bang with a great set of songs then the illuminate band led the rest of the evening along with video work and a message from Dave Rankin on the theme of 'community' . The Liquid Room is starting to feel like home for us and we hope to hold another main event their in the very near future. Another big thank you to everyone who brought socks along, they have been donated to Bethany Christian Trust for their work with the homeless in Edinburgh.
