A Brief History
Illuminate has been around for two years and it’s been amazing to see it grow as more and more people come along to each event and get involved. Illuminate started in a local Edinburgh church where a group of students held a number of worship events. From there it expanded as young people from around Edinburgh united behind the vision.
Our vision is based on worship and what it means to live a life for God, and that is at the core of our events. The Illuminate band was formed in the summer of 2006 after band members met leading at a Scripture Union camp. We feel as a team that each event must be a progression. The production quality increases each time while the raw passion for engaging in worship remains our focus. We have contacts with professional sound and light technicians who work tirelessly making sure each event is of the highest standard.
In the future we aim to take illuminate to new places as we push the vision forward.
